In the heart of the Allgäu, surrounded by mountains, located directly at the Ostrich river, the restaurant Obere Mühle offers gourmets the right place. The Obere Mühle has long been a fixed address for gourmets travelling in the Allgäu.
In 1989 the Egger-Rohrmoser family acquired the 500 year old farmhouse. They lovingly restored the property and turned the old sawmill into a very popular restaurant, which with its shingle facade, the mighty gabled roof and the rustic parlours, creates an impressive atmosphere and with its excellent cuisine not only attracts local guests.
Oliver Egger’s fine regional cuisine, steeped in Mediterranean inspiration, offers delicious venison fro the nearby forests, various veal and beef dishes grilled on an open wood fire, local delicacies from calf’s head to Kässpätzle, but also skilful fish cuisine.
